History
The Panel, Pouches, Utility is a nylon panel manufactured by Wyvern. It attaches to a web belt and comes with three utility pouches attached to it. While it was a private purchase item, in some cases, it may have been purchased by units.
British soldiers used it to replace the Pouches, Rear (Kidney Pouches) on the Pattern-58 web sets and multiple single pouches on the Pattern-90 web set.
Description
Fabricated with nylon and featuring a printed temperature DPM pattern, the panel includes a webbing carrying handle on the back and two plastic loops on the top edge of the right end. The utility pouches on the panel close with a webbing strap and a plastic side-release buckle, which is the most common closure method. Some manufacturers add secondary closure options such as snow collars or a silent hook-and-loop option.
