History
The Allan Belt Kit, produced by Arktis UK LTD, boasts a selection of pouches available in DPM, olive green, and black variants. Drawing inspiration from their renowned 42-Commando (1725) Chest Rig, this Belt Kit offers versatility as it can be worn either around the front or back of the waist, serving as a stylish alternative to conventional web sets. Its seamless integration allows for effortless pairing with a chest rig when positioned high on the chest, or when coupled with a longer field pack.
Description
The Belt is fabricated in temperature DPM textured nylon cloth. The Body of the Belt is made with two large panels of textured nylon cloth that serve as the map pocket and a lid that closes with two small metal snap-domes. The internal side of the map pocket, sewn to the top of the back face is a heavy-duty, 50mm nylon webbing belt that adjusts on one side with a plastic side-release buckle. The bottom corners of the panels have a 25mm nylon webbing strap that adjusts on one side and brings the bottom of the panel in around the waist. Sewn to the front face are three, semi-universal magazine pouches that close with hook and loop fastening tape secured lids. The sides of the Belt have a large utility pouch with a shaped lid that closes with hook and loop fastening tape and behind both of these pouches is an open-top pocket. All the pouches have metal grommets that enable water to freely drain from them.
A description of the Allan, Belt from an Arktis catalogue from the late 1990’s:
“Complementary to the chest rig, the belt kit enables you to extend your carrying capacity without having to resort to full webbing. Can be used to carry water, ammunition, grenades, first-aid kit – in fact, everything you want to carry but can’t fit into the chest rig. A lightweight yoke can be supplied to take the weight off the belt buckle, recommended if you intend to load your belt kit to the maximum.”
