History
The Pouch, Minimi, Panic (Pouch) is a large ammo pouch produced by Combat Clothing Australia in 2001. It’s designed to hold a 200rd hard or soft magazine for a F-89 Light Machine Gun and was sold as an alternative to the Australian issue Minimi pouch. The Pouch features single cell magazine pouches sewn on the external side, which can hold a 5.56mm, F-88 Austyer, or M-16/ M-4 Carbine magazine. This design not only enables more magazines to be carried but also makes the pouch best suited for an ambush, as there is no need to close the pouch after the magazine is removed.
Description
The Pouch is made with a polyester and cotton blended cloth printed with a DPCU camouflage pattern. The lid closes with a webbing strap and plastic side-release buckle, and the back face has three plastic D-rings at the top to enable the web suspenders to be fitted. Below these are four web channels that hold slide-keepers. The internal side of the Pouch’s front face has a plastic spacer board sewn into it that protects the contents and keeps the front face rigid. The external pouches are also made with the same camouflage printed cloth and are shaped to fit a single magazine. They close with a green nylon webbing strap that are secured closed with hook and loop tape.
