History
The Triple Magazine Pocket, 30 round (Pouch), is a large rectangular nylon duck panel. It is designed to hold three 30-round, 5.56mm M-4 Carbine Magazines in separate cells. Issued in sets of two with the FLC system, the Pouch attaches to the outside front of the Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) vest. In this position, it sits flat against the body, allowing for the attachment of additional pouches.
The Pouch was initially introduced in the early 2000s with a woodland and Three-color desert camouflage pattern under the MOLLE I system. With the adoption of the MOLLE II system, it has been produced in UCP, Coyote, and OCP.
Description
The Pouch is constructed with a large rectangular nylon duck panel that secures magazines in separate cells. Each cell is equipped with 50mm foliage green nylon webbing straps, sewn to the cell’s mouth and fastened in the middle with a metal dome. To minimize wear and tear on the magazines, the top straps are folded over multiple times and sewn down.
Internally, the Pouch features two nylon duck panels sewn in place, creating three compartments. The back and front faces are equipped with three vertically set sections of 25-mm webbing straps, interlined with plastic sheeting and secured to the bottom with snap-domes.
On the back face, a lattice of two horizontal 25mm webbing straps and two vertical webbing straps attaches the pouch to the FLC vest. Meanwhile, the front face boasts a lattice of three 25mm webbing straps, facilitating the attachment of other components of the MOLLE system to the front of the pouch.
