History
The Ammunition Bag (Pouch) is a compact, durable bag created to hold two 100rd hard or soft magazines or one 200rd magazine for a 5.56mm L108-A1 Light Machine Gun.
Description
Made of 1000D textured nylon cloth with a Temperature DPM camouflage pattern, it features a “Spanish” buckle to secure the lid and a secondary silent hook and loop closure option.
Inside, there is a nylon cloth divider that creates two cells for the magazines, while the external side has a small pouch for holding the weapon cleaning kit. The back face has standard 90-Pattern attachment points for a web belt and suspenders, and the pouch is waterproof to keep the magazines and cleaning kit safe from the elements.
Originally developed by the British Army for use with the L108-A1 Minimi machine gun, the L110A2 was later adopted as a light support weapon. The Ammunition Bag (Pouch) was designed to provide soldiers with a means to carry additional rounds and quickly reload their weapon during combat.
