The Pouch, Javelin, Battery, which held a single disposable lithium thermal battery, could be attached to a significantly larger field pack that underwent trials for carrying a Javelin missile system by the New Zealand Army. This trial phase aimed to identify a field pack that would allow a soldier to carry the system effectively in the field.
Description
The Pouch is fabricated with textured nylon cloth featuring a temperature Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) camouflage print on the external side. The internal side is laminated with polyurethane (PU) for added durability. The interior is lined with heavy-duty transparent vinyl, providing protection against substantial wear and tear.
The lid securely closes with a webbing strap and side-release buckle. On the back face, there is a lattice of six PALS loops and two straps. Originally, there were three straps, but the middle one has been cut off.
